Return Of The Ruffles And Flares

Ruffles and flares seem to be all the craze right now. However, long before we revived these fashion trends, women such as Jean Shrimpton, Celia Hammond and Jane Birkin flaunted them first during the 60s/70s. The beauty of fashion is that styles always have a tendency to come back around and repeat themselves and the return of ruffles and flares are no different. For all you hoarders out there it’s time to get the flared jeans and ruffled dresses and t-shirt out of the wardrobe.

Ruffles and flares were first spotted during the early 1960s with Celia Hammond.

In 1974,  Jane Birkin was photographed by J.L Guegan for “L’Officiel”.

         

Fast forward to Summer 2017, and we have seen the ruffles and flares take over the catwalk by storm.
